Mixed Bags by: Melody Carlson

Mixed Bags

My book Mixed Bags by Melody Carlson is very good. The main character DJ is the granddaughter of a fashion forword grandmother who expects more than her granddaughter can put up with. This book is a story of a few girls who are living together and are learning how to become debutantes. In this book I enjoy the way the author describes the characters. So when the book is done introducing the new characters I feel like I know them myself. I'm on page 101, the genre of my book is realistic fiction. One of the quotes DJ said is "Oh, and you think you can do better? Better at tennis than me." I think that this is an important quote because DJ is standing up for herself.
In this book mixed bags I didn't really enjoy how the character Taylor treats DJ. She is one of the meanest girl I have even read about. On the other hand I like how DJ stands up for herself and stay true to herself. This book is the perfect quick read in it you get a little romance a little commedy and just a good book. This book has a great hook I didn't want to stop reading it. Infotunately I had to so I could sleep but, I didn't want to!
